    bad actor

    Reason: Communication issue

    Another bad broker alert!!! Got this load from Zack Beckner working under Longship. Load had 2 pu in Caldwell ID 2 drops in MO, and no that's not the bad part. Get the rate con and off the bat the load is late already. So I rush up to the first pu get checked in at a kiosk and it asks why I'm late give the reason and then it pops up the load and it shows one drop and it was dropping in WA. So I called Zack and asked what was up with it and he tells me it's a blind shipment and that was his customer 🤔, this could well be a stolen or double brokered load. Yes I know that's not always the case but with everything going on in the industry right a big risk. I decided to still take the load so I could get the paperwork and call the customer to verify the load. Got the paperwork 5 hrs later do to shipper telling Zack I never checked in after waiting 3 hrs, so had to check in again. Got to the 2 pu afterwards and of course Zack had the pickup number on the rate con. By this time he was out of the office so I called after hours but was on hold for 10-15 minutes so I call Zacks cellphone and only got this cause he had me text him a picture to verify that I was at the first drop and right location, which I was since I've been there several times before. Of course he didn't answer the call so I texted him and didn't get a reply for 1.5. While waiting for the pickup number I called the customer to verify the load. Talked to 2 different people and explained what was going on. They where surprised, grateful that I called, and very helpful. The last person I talked with said he had to do some digging and get back to me. With in ten minutes he calls back and verified the load with Longship as the brokerage but also asks me about a third pickup in Oklahoma. I informed him that it was not on my rate con so I wouldn't be picking it up since it is not in my contract, yes a rate con is part of the contract for anyone that doesn't know. I also informed him that I have been at the 2 pickup for about a 1.5 waiting for the pickup number, he replied he sent it to Zack about 1 hr before and he would call him. Finally got the number and go back inside and am told would have to pay $100 for late fee. So again I text Zack and no reply for over a hr. Did get a money code for EFS check. Did a update this morning when I stopped for my 10 hr brake around 1230 am and I get a reply from him saying customer add a pickup in OK and he would give me a extra $500 for adding on a extra 300 miles 🙂 😀 😆 🤣 😂 😹. I replied back and said that doesn't work for me and I don't add on drops in the middle of a load but would do it as another load for 1500 plus the 6 hrs detention between the first two pickups on a new rate con. The point of this is to make everyone aware of the bad actors and don't be afraid to stand your ground. Also not to let anyone or another businesses take advantage of you or your own business.
