    Report on Load Cancellation and TONU non-payment Load #: 60315521 Issue: I was contracted to transport a load from New Hudson, Michigan to Fremont, California. The load was subsequently canceled by Ascent Global Logistics due to the customer's need for expedited airfreight delivery. Driver had already driven 80 miles towards the pickup location and are requesting a TONU payment to cover their expenses. Timeline: Load confirmation was sent to me. Shortly after, i was asked if we can deliver earlier on weekend. I have explained that I would stick with that Monday morning delivery for now but I ll have a better idea after the pick up to see how the pickup is going first: to see first if there will be any detention at the pickup or any other issue that might lead to delay. Right after, Ascent Global Logistics informs me that the load is canceled as the customer requires airfreight. I request TONU, explaining they have already incurred expenses. Ascent Global Logistics explains the situation and denies TONU payment, stating the cancellation was due to unforeseen customer needs and I had ample time to find a recovery load stating also that the cancellation was due to circumstances beyond their control and I do not qualify for TONU payment. Key Points: • I clearly provided facts that they incurred expenses by driving 80 miles towards the pickup location and should be compensated for their time and effort. • Ascent Global Logistics acknowledges the inconvenience caused to me but asserts that the cancellation was due to a sudden change in the customer's shipping requirements and was not a reflection of my performance and claims that I had sufficient time to find another load and mitigate their losses.
